© By Nigel Rolfe

This is a single work here that represents many works made between 1976 until mid 1990s that use as their basis the questions of identity and oppression in relationship specifically to Ireland, North and South. In “The Rope That Binds Us Makes Them Free” the Artist binds his head in creosote covered twine, representing the smothering, isolation, loss and failure of the Troubles.
